Three Gray residents and a Woodbine man were among 13 individuals arrested in a sweep of suspected drug dealers in Knox County Thursday morning.
“Operation Silent Sweep” conducted by Knox County Sheriff’s deputies with the cooperation of Kentucky State Police and Barbourville Police targeted 21 suspected drug dealers identified through the department’s drug trip hotline..
The Gray and Woodbine residents arrested included:
• Jason Wyatt, 34, of Gray, charged with second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance
• Johnny Eads, 43, of Gray, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance
• Matthew McCrystal, 34, of Gray, charged with second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance
• James Roberts, 53, of Woodbine, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance
Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith said deputies secured arrest warrants for the individuals after undercover officers made controlled purchases of Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, methamphetamine and/or Suboxone from each of them.
Smith said the investigation is continuing and more arrests are suspected.
