Redhounds defeat Jackson County Thursday, 36-0

Date:

As expected, the Corbin Redhounds completely dominated the visiting Jackson County Generals Thursday night, improving to 4-3 on the year and picking up their first district victory of 2015.

The Hounds scored with 9:26 remaining in the first quarter on a 61-yard touchdown run from Drew Carter. Quarterback Cameron Sizemore ran it into the end zone for another TD at 5:48, and then he passed to receiver AJ Moore, who crossed the goal line to add another six points at the 1:39 mark. Three successful extra point attempts by Lucas Canineu made it 21-0 in favor of the home team.

Sizemore threw another touchdown pass a few minutes into the second quarter, this time to receiver Chase Estep. Another successful PAT extended Corbin’s lead to 28-0 going into the half.

The second half featured a continuous running clock and saw mostly underclassmen on the field for the Hounds. After a scoreless third quarter, Justin Davis tan in a touchdown with 7:38 remaining in regulation.

Jackson County was threatening as time expired, but in the end they would fall to Corbin by a final score of 36-0.

The Redhounds will now have a bye week before traveling to Bell County for their next game on Friday, October 16.
