Richard “Tom” Rains

Richard “Tom” Rains, age 88, of Williamsburg, KY, passed away Monday November 28, 2022 at Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born December 9, 1933 in Whitley County, KY to the late Jack and Allie Rains.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Zola Rains; a son, Harold “Bo” Rains; two brothers, Sam Rains, and Gene Rains.
Tom served his community as a barber since 1959.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Perkins (Wayne) of Williamsburg, KY; son, Curt Rains (Lois) of Dayton, OH; three grandsons, Eric Rains (Pam), Jason Rains, and Cody Perkins (Sarah); one granddaughter, Tess Perkins; one great-grandson, Eric Rains, Jr.; one brother, James Rains (Shirley) of White Oak, NC; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 1, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating.
Interment will be in Maple Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the funeral hour Thursday, December 1, at the funeral home.
American Legion Post 88 Corbin, KY will conduct graveside military honors.
