Auditors shed additional light in school theft case

Former Whitley County School District Chief Financial Officer Leigh Burke is charged with theft and abuse of the public trust in connection with missing funds from the school district.

Auditors shed a little more light Thursday evening on the alleged theft of $12,042.14 by the Whitley County school district’s former chief financial officer, who was fired in June amid allegations of misappropriation of school funds.
