Carl “Sonny” Ausmus

Carl “Sonny” Ausmus, 79, of Williams-burg, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday September 17, 2019 at Continue Care Hospital in Corbin.

He was born November 16, 1939 in Knoxville, TN to the late Dr. Carl E. Ausmus and the late Hattie C. Ausmus Finley.

He attended Main Street Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the U. S. Army.

He is survived by his wife Jennie Lou Ausmus of Williamsburg, Kentucky; two stepsons, Robert A. West and Larry West (Ginnie) all of Williamsburg; four step grandchildren; Joseph West, Emma West, Whitley West Sears (Andrew) and Alivia West; sister, Janice Ausmus Simpson of Jellico, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Thursday September 19, at Ellison Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Jones, Rev. David Moreland and Rev. Ande Myers officiating.

A graveside service and interment was held Friday, September 20, at Jellico Cemetery.
