She was born February 1, 1924, to Jane and Manning Lovings in Laurel County.
Dorothy went back to school in her forties. She earned multiple degrees and taught twenty some years in public schools at elementary, high school, and college levels. She was a devoted Christian for all of her adult life and a member of New Hope Ministries Church of God in Corbin, Kentucky. Born February 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy Bowling.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan McCracken; her brother, Mark Bowling; and her sister Eileen Krall.

Born in Corbin, Patsy was the daughter of the late Donald A. Lloyd and Maxine Lloyd Mitchell who survives.
