Terry Lynn Sexton, 63, of Reynolds Road, Keavy, passed away Saturday at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. He was the father of Travis Reynolds of Corbin. Memorial services for Mr. Terry Lynn Sexton will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the Pleasant Springs Christian Church in Keavy, with Pastor Forrester Baker, Jr. officiating. Carl Wesley Wells, 87, of Corbin and formerly of Ohio passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Lexington. Carl was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Creech Wells. A graveside service will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at Worley Cemetery with Bro. Andrew Darden officiating. There will be no public visitation. James “Earl” Johnson, 94, a Purple Heart recipient, passed away on Tuesday July 7, 2018 “Purple Heart Day” Earl was a member of 20th Street Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the D.A.V. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having entered into the US Army at the age of 17. He served in the South Pacific where in addition to the Purple Heart, he earned Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, America Theater Ribbon, and World War II Victory Medal. Born October 20, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Henry Sizemore, Sr., and Sophie Sizemore. Ruth was a graduate of Lynn Camp High School.
