She was born in Clay City, Indiana on April 19, 1935 to the late Wade Cordell and Exie Jones Cordell. Most of her life was lived in Williamsburg, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Williamsburg High School, Cumberland College, Union College, and Eastern Kentucky University. Brenda K. Prewitt, widow of Rondal G. Prewitt, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky, due to complications from a long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was 74 years old.
Brenda is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law: Rhonda Whittemore (John) and Renee Hackler (Wendell); her sister-in-law, Cathy Prewitt (Thor Bahrman); and her grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Johnson.

Born in Laurel County, he was a son of the late Elder Carl McCarty and Sara Elizabeth McCarty. Kenneth was also predeceased by his wife, Wilma Yvonne McCarty; siblings, J. T. McCarty, Delmer Levon McCarty, Wanda Hampton and Marjorie Taylor; and his mother-in-law, Mildred Sizemore.
