Chase ends with crash, two flown out, one arrested

A Williamsburg man, who was recently released on parole, allegedly lead police on a high-speed chase late Saturday evening before striking another vehicle, and then having his car go into a ditch. He then allegedly crawled out the car window and tried to run from police on foot, but was Tasered by a Kentucky State Police trooper before being arrested on 18 criminal offenses, according to arrest citations.

Jonathan Lawson is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase Saturday night that ended with a crash.

Two people, who were riding in his vehicle, had to be extricated, and flown out by emergency medical helicopter.

Jonathan Lawson, 32, of Williamsburg, pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Monday afternoon in Whitley District Court to numerous offenses, including: speeding 26 mph over limit, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree assault and reckless driving.
