Corbin’s Reese Helton takes first in the girls’ division.

The Corbin Redhounds and the Lady Redhounds took first place in the City/County Cross Country Championship Tuesday at Corbin. It was the third win in a row for the Lady Redhounds and second straight for the Corbin boys.

Williamsburg sophomore Garrett Faulkner took first in the boys’ event with a time of 18:04.41. He beat out Corbin junior Tucker Jones, who ran the race in just under 19 minutes (18:56.78).

Whitley County senior Brent Logan took third place in a time of 19:02.72.

The Redhounds finished with 31 points in claiming first place for the second year. Whitley County was second with 39 points and Williamsburg rounded out the county field with 54 points.

Corbin seventh grader Reese Helton took first in the girls’ race with a time of 22:34.81, beating out Sarah Perkins of Williamsburg (24:15.31).  Corbin was the only school to field a full girls’ team.
