Clayton Dwane Marsee, age 88, of Knoxville, TN., formally of Williamsburg, KY., departed this life on Saturday, August 21, 2021 and entered in to his eternal Heavenly home following a brief illness with Covid 19.
Clayton was born on April 15, 1933 to the late Emmett and Martha (Patton) Marsee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Elijah David Wilson; two sisters, Emma Mae Ball and Jessie Marie Prewitt; seven brothers; Clarence Marsee, Earl Marsee, Ellis Marsee, Clifford Marsee, Charlie Marsee, Sillus Marsee and Don Marsee.
He was an ordained Baptist Deacon and a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. where he loved to attend The Gleaners Sunday School Class and above all to give praise and glory to his Lord and Savior. He was also a Korean War Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army.
In his younger years, he enjoyed farming and Bluegill fishing on Laurel Lake with his two girls. He loved and cherished his family.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years and 10 months, Norma Jean (Croley) Marsee of Knoxville, TN.; two daughters, Rhonda (Mike Thomas) of Knoxville, TN, and Kathy (Mike Wilson) of Williamsburg, KY; two grandson’s that were the delight of his life, Ethan and Zachary; one sister, Lucy (Marsee) and Phil Renner of Mason, Ohio; one very special neighbor that called him, Mr. Clayton.
Several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors to mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends after 11:00 A.M. on Thursday until the funeral hour on, August 26, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 26, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Lemons, Rev. Doyle Lester and Rev. Jim Horton officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest in the New Mount Zion Cemetery in Williamsburg, KY.
The American Legion Post 88 will be conducting Military Graveside Honors at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Mount Zion Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
