Colonel Players presenting ‘Rapunzel Uncut’ Thursday, Friday

Date:

Local residents will have a chance to check out the play, “Rapunzel Uncut” courtesy of Whitley County High School’s Colonel Players on Thursday and Friday evening.

The story, which was written by Mariah Everman, is that of Rapunzel but told by dueling narrators, with a misunderstood witch, an off-pitch Rapunzel, and an unimaginably stupid Prince, according to playscripts.com.

“If you like fairy tales, silliness, princesses, and The Artist Formerly Known As Prince, then this show is for you,” WCHS Drama Instructor David Sweet wrote on the Whitley County High School Drama Facebook page.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the WCHS Cafeteria.

Tickets are $5, and proceeds will cover travel expenses to the Eastern Kentucky Dramatic Arts Festival in Ashland, where the Colonel Players will perform the play at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
