Corbin Police Department answered over 1,000 calls in May

The Corbin Police Department answered 1,149 calls during the month of May.

Officers issued 142 total citations for traffic or criminal offenses, and made 87 total arrests. Out of those arrests, there were 30 criminal arrests and 57 warrants served according to a Corbin Police Department release.

Corbin Police opened 29 criminal cases during May for things such as theft, assaults, etc.

Officers responded to 67 collisions in May.

So far in 2022, Corbin police have answered a total of 5,380 calls, issued 807 total citations,  and made 417 total arrests. Out of those arrests, 146 were criminal arrests and 261 were warrants served, according to a News Journal analysis.

Corbin police have opened a total of 183 cases thus far in 2022, and had responded to 252 total collisions through May 31, 2022.

“The City of Corbin’s Police Department works tirelessly to ensure our community is provided a quality law enforcement service. We utilize all available resources to minimize the risk of the citizens we serve becoming a victim of criminal activity,” the Corbin Police Department wrote in a release.
