Corbin wins 50th District Tournament

The #6 ranked Corbin Redhounds captured the 50th District Tournament at Williamsburg Friday night, turning back the South Laurel Cardinals, 66-58.

The Redhounds nailed the win by hitting 15 of 18 free throws. Both teams converted 23 field goals but the Redhounds, led by junior Madison Johnson’s five 3-pointers edged the Cardinals 5-4 in that category.

From the line the Redhounds outscored the defending district and regional champion, 15-8. Johnson finished the game with 24 points while senior teammate Josh Crawford added 20 points. Matt St. John led the Cardinals with 25 points.
