Corbin’s Treyveon Longmire may not play for UK

Date:

Corbin High School senior football standout Treyveon Longmire may not be suiting up for the University of Kentucky next fall.

Longmire, who had committed to play for Coach Mark Stoops back in the spring, announced on his Twitter page that he would be looking at other schools.

“After talking to my family, I am going to re-open my recruitment and explore all my options,” Longmire wrote Friday afternoon hashtagging it with #GODSPLAN.

Corbin Football Coach Tom Greer said while Longmire has not decommitted to UK, he is having second thoughts and has elected to use his four remaining official college visits.

“Other universities continue to call, call, call, call,” Greer said.

Greer declined to say what schools Longmire plans to visit.

Longmire is listed as a four-star recruit.

In 12 games this season, Longmire caught 22 passes for 475 yards and seven touchdowns.

His best game came on Oct. 1 against Simon Kenton when he caught five passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns in the Redhounds’ 56-24 win over the Pioneers.

Longmire added one rushing touchdown on the season.

At UK, Longmire was expected to play defensive back where he has also seen time with the Redhounds.
