Deputy rescues two young children through window

Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Brently Patrick was able to remove two very young children through the window of a house Sunday morning before confronting an allegedly intoxicated intruder, who was trying to force his way into a bedroom inside the residence to pick up his children, according to a sheriff’s department release and the suspect’s arrest citation.

James Hughes is facing charges of public intoxication, burglary, assault, resisting arrest and various other offenses.
