Donna Marie Bunch was born on September 23, 1963 in Toledo, Ohio.
Donna, age 62, passed away peacefully from this life on December 23, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.
Donna was born into the loving home of her parents, Tom and Sue Matney, and was blessed with a warm and supportive family throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: James and Doxie Lawson, and James Dewey and Elvie Dunaven Matney, all of whom she loved dearly. She is also preceded in death by her husband’s loving family: father-in-law, Willie Bunch Jr, mother-in-law, Iva Jean Siler Bunch, and grandmother, Kathleen Siler.
Donna faithfully served her community as an educator with the Whitley County School System for 34 years and at Faith Christian Academy for two years, where she touched countless lives through her dedication and compassion for her students. Outside of the classroom, Donna attended Wofford Baptist Church faithfully, where she lived out her faith and found fellowship among her church family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Bunch, who cherished her deeply. Donna was a proud and devoted mother to her daughter, Iva Breanna Watson, and son-in-law, Jessie Watson, who brought great joy to her life. She was also excited to welcome her first grandchild, Lakelynn Jo-Marie. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Tommy Hughes, her brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and DeAnna Matney, and her brother-in-law, Charlie Bunch.
Donna adored her nieces, Kristy Brown (husband Russell) and Lauren Matney, and her nephews, Joshua Matney (wife Julie Beth), Christian Ross, and Isaac Matney, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her very special friend, Vickie Rickett.
Donna will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering kindness, and the heartfelt care she offered to all who knew her. Her family, friends, colleagues, and former students will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Funeral service was held on Sunday, December 28, at Cumberland Freewill Baptist Church.
Burial service followed at the Croley Addition of Highland Park Cemetery.
