Grace Health is honored to announce that Emma Moore, a recent graduate of Williamsburg Independent School, is the 2024 recipient of the Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship for Whitley County. With an impressive 4.625 weighted GPA, Emma excelled academically, earning not only her high school diploma but also an Associate of Science (A.S.) psychology degree from the University of the Cumberlands through dual credit courses.
Emma, the daughter of Michael and Heather Jarboe of Williamsburg, will continue her education at the University of the Cumberlands this fall, where she plans to specialize as a psychiatric nurse. Inspired by the increasing mental health challenges in the community, particularly among children, she aspires to become a nurse practitioner with a focus on children’s psychiatry. “My overall goal is to stay in Williamsburg, the community I was raised in, and become a nurse practitioner specializing in mental health to help meet the needs of my community,” she shared. “I want to be a source of change for my small town that will last for generations.”
Throughout high school, she was actively involved in various extracurricular activities, including serving as Junior Class President and Senior Class Parliamentarian on the Student Council, being a member of the BETA Club, and participating in the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy. She received several awards and recognitions, including a perfect score on the English section of the ACT, a Rogers Scholar award, and multiple academic honors.
Emma excelled in athletics, competing in track and field, cross country, and cheerleading. She had notable performances at state-level competitions, including placing in the top 15 at regional cross-country meets for two consecutive years, which qualified her for the state competition.
Her commitment to service extends beyond the classroom and athletics. Emma volunteered at Parkway Ministries as a Sunday School Teacher, Coffee Ministry Barista, and Youth Prayer Leader, and has participated in numerous community service projects, including tutoring peers and supporting local charitable initiatives.
