Finger Lickin’ Chicken Week returns to Corbin

Date:

Fourteen Corbin restaurants will be participating in Corbin Tourism’s third annual Finger Lickin’ Chicken Week.

The event, which began in 2019, is an opportunity for local restaurants to offer unique dishes all using one key ingredient – chicken.

In 2021, the event was transformed into restaurant week since the community was still in the midst of coronavirus related supply issues and complications.

With the return of Finger Lickin’ Chicken Week this year, participants will experience a bigger event with numerous new restaurants participating.

Each restaurant will offer a unique culinary treat for $6 per dish.

Participating restaurants and their culinary creations include:

Bree’s on Main – Chicken Panini

The Depot – Smothered Chicken

Caboose Sports Tavern – Stinging Kicking Chicken Sliders

Seasons – Breaded Chicken Parmesan

Si Senor – Pollo Churro

Travis’ Café – Cool Southwest Chicken Wrap

Austin City Saloon – Clucken Hot Chicken Challenge

Wrigley Taproom & Eatery – Hot Honey Nuggies

Sweeties Ice Cream – Nuggets on Ice

You & Me Coffee & Tea – Chicken Salad Sandwich

Bubby’s BBQ – Chicken Country Style Biscuit

Santa Fe – Chicken Nacho Supreme

Old Town Grill – Beer Cheese Chicken Philly

Icehouse – Chicken Pot Pie.

This year, recipes like Austin City Saloon’s Clucken Hot Chicken Challenge are so unique and spicy that participants will have to sign a waiver to participate. Other new recipes include Bree’s on Main’s Chicken Panini and Icehouse’s Chicken Pot Pie.

Corbin Tourism Director Maggy Monhollen said, “Our food weeks are a lot of fun for the whole family. I think one of the things that we look forward to the most for chicken week, outside of the fact that we are allowing people to discover Colonel Sanders is not the only one with a secret recipe, is the fact that people make this a true event.”

Monhollen said it is not uncommon for groups of friends, coworkers, and families to ‘restaurant hop’ and try the different dishes at each of the locations.

Participants are encouraged to visit the restaurants and utilize their dine in services.

Finger Lickin’ Chicken Week will kick off on Jan. 17, and self-proclaimed chicken connoisseurs will have until Jan. 22 to try all of the dishes.
