The Lynn Camp Wildcats dominated visiting Jackson County in this year’s Sav-Rite Home Care Bowl, while the Corbin Redhounds and Whitley County Colonels were defeated in week 5.
The Wildcats cruised to a shutout win over the Jackson County Generals Friday, 51-0. The victory improves the Cats to 4-1 on the season. Next week, they will open up district play against the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets.
Also hosting a big game Friday night were the Corbin Redhounds, who were looking to get back on track after last week’s loss to Pulaski County.
The visiting Frederick Douglass Broncos had other ideas, though, coming into Campbell Field and handing the Hounds a 28-7 loss. Corbin now stands at 3-2 on the year and will be on bye next week. They will host another tough opponent in the Johnson Central Golden Eagles on Oct. 3.
Finally, the Whitley County Colonels dropped their fourth game in a row Friday, falling to visiting Bell County, 40-6. The 1-4 Colonels will host North Laurel next week.
