Gladys Mae Manes, age 92, of Lily, Kentucky departed this life on February 14, 2023 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Gladys was born on May 26, 1930 in Woodbine, Kentucky to the late Josh Ed Powers and Mary (Warfield) Powers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Manes; son, Hugh Everett Shelton (Taffy); and sister, Lucille Pemberton.
Gladys is survived by six children, Bobby Shelton (Lou Ann) of Delta, Ohio, Tommy Manes (Shirley) of Siler, Kentucky, Ronnie Manes (Retha) of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Johnny Manes (Charlotte) of Corbin, Kentucky, Randy Manes (Bobbie Jean) of Corbin, Kentucky, and Misty Hood (Ken) of Versailles, Kentucky; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth McCullough (Don) of Richmond, Kentucky and Aileen Spencley of Toledo, Ohio; brother, H.K. Powers (Lafern) of Richmond, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be at 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, February 17, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 18, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Rhodes officiating.
She will be laid to rest in the Wells Cemetery on Hwy 11.
