Golden Alert issued for missing Whitley County man

The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department issued a Golden Alert Wednesday evening for a missing man.

Larry Gene Hamblin, 68, was last seen on Sept. 22 between 2 – 4 a.m. at 535 Bennett Branch Road in Williamsburg.

He is described as a 5’11” white male weighing 235 pounds. He has a medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, and a mustache, according to a missing person flier released the sheriff’s department.

He normally wears a T-shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

Hamblin is under a doctor’s care for cardiac problems, and his family advised that he is known to have a substance abuse problem, according to the sheriff’s department flier.

Anyone with information about Hamblin’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Whitley County E-911 at it non-emergency number, which is (606) 549-6017.
