Hazel Gibson Evans Smith, 93, of Corbin, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Baptist Health Corbin.

Born in Anthers, TN, Hazel was the daughter of the late Roscoe Gibson and Neva Gibson.

She was a homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oliver Daniel Smith; two brothers Roscoe Gibson, Jr. and Ralph Howard Gibson; and three sisters Adie May Green, Pearl Gibson, and Myrtle Evans.
Hazel is survived by her son Bobby Ray Evans and wife Judy; three grandchildren, Melissa Hartigan (David), Kathleen Boan (Marshall), and Daniel Evans (Lisa); ten grandchildren, Jessica, Kimberly, Donovan and Tristan Evans, Taylor and Morgan Hartigan, Zachary, Haley, and Emily Boan, and Brandon Garber; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Hatmaker; brother, Virgil Gibson; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend Lucy Cordell.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Roach  officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon Saturday until the time of the funeral at Calvary Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Jellico Cemetery at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
