High School Football Results – 10/16

For the second year in a row, the Corbin Redhounds have defeated the Bell County Bobcats to capture a district title. Sophomore quarterback Cameron Sizemore had five rushing touchdowns on the night for Corbin, leading the Hounds to a 34-20 victory. The win improves their record to 5-3, 2-0 on the year, and next week they will host Casey County at Campbell Field.

Also picking up a huge district win Friday night was the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets, who improved their season record to 2-5, 1-1 with an impressive 50-15 victory over visiting Pineville. Next week the Jackets will look to keep things rolling as they host the Lynn Camp Wildcats.

Speaking of the Cats, they have now dropped their last four games, losing to the Harlan Green Dragons this week by a final score of 62-28. The loss drops them to 4-5, 0-2 on the year.

And finally, the Whitley County Colonels were hoping to improve their district record Friday against visiting Harlan County, but the Black Bears were able to pull out the 50-43 win in the end, putting Whitley at 4-4, 1-2 on the season. Next week the Colonels will try to get back on track as they go on the road for another district matchup at Letcher Central.
