The Corbin Redhounds became district champions and improved their overall season record to 8-1 with a 35-7 victory at Casey County. Next week they will travel to Barbourville to finish out their regular season schedule with a game against the Knox Central Panthers.

The Whitley County Colonels won their eighth game in a row Friday, defeating visiting Letcher County  Central 44-12. With this victory, the Colonels have achieved a perfect 4-0 record in district play in 2016, granting them home field advantage in the playoffs. Next week Whitley will try to extend their win streak to nine games at Leslie County.

And the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets also completed a sweep of district opponents Friday, defeating Lynn Camp 53-7 after wins over Harlan and Pineville in recent weeks. The Jackets will host Middlesboro next Friday in their regular season finale. After going 0-3 in district play over the last three weeks, Lynn Camp will receive a bye before the 2016 playoffs begin on November 4.
