According to Corbin Police Lt. James Miller, Hammack was a patient at the hospital when he walked by the cart in the ER hallway.

“He was going back to his room and had broken off the security tabs and took the vials,” Miller said of Hammack. “One of the nurses caught him.”

Miller said the vials contained a medication administered through an injection into an IV to treated infant related heart issues.

“He didn’t know what they were,” Miller said of Hammack.

Hammack was taken to the Whitley County Detention Center and released about four hours later on his own recognizance.
