A London woman, who was stopped recently while driving a vehicle that had been reported as stolen, allegedly gave Williamsburg police her sister’s name instead of her own name, at least until police told her there was a warrant for her sister’s arrest, then she gave police her real name, according to an arrest citation.
On Nov. 28, Williamsburg Police Officer Daniel Lovitt arrested Lora Ailene Robinson, 45, charging her with receiving stolen property over $500 but less than $10,000, theft of identity of another without consent, and having no tail lamp, according to her arrest citation and a Williamsburg Police Department release.
She was also served with a warrant for failure to appear, the release stated.
The arrest occurred about 3:30 a.m. along KY92E following a traffic stop of a 2010 Chevy Cobalt that had been reported stolen to the Corbin Police Department, according to the release.
Lovitt initially stopped the vehicle for having a left tail light out, and then learned that the vehicle had been reported as stolen, according to the arrest citation.
Robinson was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
Williamsburg K-9 Officer Johnny Fulton and Officer Dorman Patrick Jr. assisted with the investigation.
