Margaret Lee Helvey of Williamsburg, KY, gently passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025 following a brief illness.
She was born on January 30, 1957 in Springfield, MO, to the late Dr. O.J. and Marjorie Lee Wells Helvey.
Margaret was a graduate of Williamsburg High School and Cumberland College. Following a brief stint as a teacher, she transitioned to a long and successful career in Kentucky State Government.
Following her retirement, she moved back to Williamsburg to be closer to her family and friends. Margaret was a lifelong reader, who also enjoyed watching television shows from the 1950s and 60s, and loved spending time with her grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
Margaret is survived by her son, Daniel Warren of London, KY; five grandchildren, Nevaeh Nahid (Micah) of Bowling Green, KY, Heaven Warren of Lexington, KY, Presley Spicer of Williamsburg, KY, Cooper Brooks of Williamsburg, KY, Charlie Warren of Corbin, KY, the mother of his children, Ashley Warren of Williamsburg, KY; two brothers, Chris Helvey (Virginia) of Frankfort, KY, and Andrew Helvey of Williamsburg, KY; her friend and frequent caregiver, Tracie Brooks Malone; several nieces, nephews; and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral service was Thursday, February 27, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerome Cox officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to KET or the Williamsburg Public Library.
