Martha Powers, a beloved figure in her community and humble servant of faith, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, just a few months shy of her 82nd birthday.
Born on May 23, 1943, in Williamsburg, KY, Martha resided in Rockholds, Kentucky, where her warm spirit and loving nature touched all who knew her.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 63 years, Bobby Powers. Martha continued to live a life of service and dedication to those around her, shown through her love for quilting and sewing, her active role as a home maker, and her unwavering devotion to her faith.
Martha was a treasured member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years, where her humble spirit shone brightly. She was known for her beautiful quilts and sewing pieces, which she often gifted to family and friends, leaving a tangible memory of her love and kindness. Martha was a person of exceptional character, whose humble lifestyle and caring nature will be missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of the Bluegrass for their compassionate care during her final days.
Martha is survived by her devoted daughter, Vicky Young and son-in-law, Lewis Young. She leaves behind a loving legacy in her grandchildren, Quentin, Chad, Laura, and Randy. Her memory will also be cherished by several nieces, nephews, and other family members who will mourn her passing. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Ren and Pearl Teague; husband, Bobby Powers; and sons, Jimmy and Randy Powers.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at 6:00 pm at Croley Funeral Home, located at 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky.
A funeral service to honor Martha’s life will be held the following day, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 11:00 am at the same location.
