Punching their ticket: Corbin officially kicked off its event schedule last month with Restaurant Week, which ran from March 20 through March 25. Restaurant Week is one of three qualifying events that will send local chefs to the World Food Champtionships (WFC) in Dallas, Texas, later this year. Old Town Grill took home honors as Restaurant Week winner with their Sinful Tilapia dish. Corbin Tourism Director Maggy Monhollen (left) presented OTG owners Mike Caffery (center) and Matt Caffery (right) with their golden ticket to the WFC last Thursday. Matt Caffery said he has already been researching how to best get his ingredients to Dallas for the competition, which he is looking forward to competing in. “We’re going to be competing with everyone from housewives and husbands to backyard cooks and world-class chefs,” said Caffery. “We would like to be in the Top 5. We’d like to win, but we’ve got to be realistic.”
