Paul William Canada, 91, passed away at the Baptist Health in Lexington, KY on Monday April 21, 2025.
Born on April 16, 1934, in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Brit Kennedy and Lou (Walker) Kennedy in Whitley County.
His spirit was as untamed as the horses he loved to raise and ride. His hands, though hardened by years of work, were always ready to extend in friendship and love. Paul was a man of the earth, who found joy in the simplicity of farming and the companionship of his horses.
His appreciation for hard work and dedication was evident in his long and successful career as a logger, a profession that demanded strength, perseverance, and an intimate understanding of the world around him.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Sue Meadors (Eugene) of Williamsburg, KY, Rosalee Hinkle (Gary) of Williamsburg, KY, and Buffy Shelton-Angel (James) of Williamsburg, KY; son, Billy Roger Canada of Williamsburg, KY; grandchildren, Amanda Long (Kerby), Cindy Moses (Andy), Katie Canada, Erika Vaughn (Greg), LeAnna Hinkle, Matthew Hinkle (Veronica), Whitney Shelton (Tim), Breigh Potter (Chase), and Kennedy Shelton (Daniel); and 14 great-grandchildren. His surviving nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing are testament to his impact on the community.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Brit and Lou (Walker) Kennedy; brothers, Uhlas Canada, Andrew Canada, Burdette Canada, and Harold Canada; sisters, Clema Davis and Nannie Jane Hubbard; and his granddaughter, Angela Frazier Canada; and the mother of his children, Sylivia Canada also precedes him in passing.
The visitation will be held at Croley Funeral Home, 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky, on Thursday, April 24, at 6:00 pm. The funeral service will follow on Friday, April 25, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ronald Canada officiating, with the burial service commencing at 2:00 pm at the Canadatown Cemetery
