Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man they say attempted to rob the manager of the Spur Oil gas station in North Corbin Thursday morning.

According to Sheriff John Root, the robber pulled into the gas station near exit 29 about 4:30 a.m. in a white colored Dodge crew cab dually pickup truck.

The store manager was walking across the parking lot to his vehicle when the robber pulled up next to him, pointed a pistol out the window and demanded money.

The manager was able to get away and the robber drove away with nothing.

The robber had allegedly been in the store earlier that morning and was captured on the store’s video surveillance.

The robber is described as a white male, 6 feet one inch tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing a gray University of Kentucky hooded sweatshirt, warm up pants, with black tennis shoes trimmed in white.

Anyone with information about the robber or the vehicle is asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at 606-878-6600 or 606-878-7000.
