Raymond Jay (Mailman) Campbell, age 48, of North Highway 25-W, Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky. Jay was born on May 6, 1973 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Raymond Finley and Ina Lou (Meadors) Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Campbell and Jim Campbell; grandparents, William and Dorothy (Kidd) Campbell and Manuel and Tilda (Fore) Meadors; and a cousin, Leah Byrns. Jay worked for the United States Postal Service.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlote Salyer of Williamsburg; fiancé, Samantha Perez of Williamsburg; wife, Nikki Darlene Campbell of Williamsburg; life-long friend, Barbara Rae Cunningham of Mt. Vernon; brother, John Campbell of Williamsburg; four nephews, Cody Campbell, Hunter Campbell, Nathan Campbell and Jim Campbell; three nieces, Raelyn Campbell, Brooklyn Sutton and Macie Campbell; special uncle, Doyle Meadors of Williamsburg; several aunts and uncles; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral service was held on Thursday, July 29, at Sanders Creek Church of God with Rev. Bill Meadors and Rev. Willie Canada officiating. Following the service he was laid to rest in the Canadatown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to pay for funeral expenses.
