rhoda-davenportRhoda Davis Davenport, 95, of Redbird Road, Williamsburg, departed this life on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Williamsburg Health and Rehab Center.

She was born on July 28, 1921 in Campbell County, TN to the late Job Davis and Lillie Jane (York) Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis C. Davenport; a daughter, Virginia Faye Terry and a son, Lewis C. Davenport Jr.

Rhoda was a member of Tidal Wave Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis Bowling (Phillip) of Lily and Betty Jo Neely of Williamsburg; two sons, William Donald Davenport (Ruth) of Ortonville, MI and Robert Croley Davenport (Kathy) of Lewiston, ID; 27 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Bobby Terry of Williamsburg; daughter-in-law, Maecha Davenport of Rockingham, NC; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

The funeral service was held Sunday, December 11, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Sutton and Rev. Jim Martin officiating.

She was laid to rest in the New Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
