The Roasting Redhounds Junior Chef Team attends training class in Lexington

The Corbin High School Junior Chef team “The Roasting Redhounds” attended a Chef training class provided by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and Sullivan University in Lexington, Kentucky on Wednesday July 12th.

At the chef’s training the students learned safety and sanitation when working with food, as well as specific knife cutting skills. The group also worked one-on-one with Sullivan University’s trained chefs to improve their culinary skills before the state competition.

The Roasting Redhounds are set to compete in the Kentucky State Sweet 16 Junior Chef Competition at the State Fair on August 17th at 9 a.m.

The Roasting Redhounds Team members include Ken Trudelle, Makenzie Belew, and Sarah Sawyers.  Their coach is Jessica Lester.
