Just over a month after the departure of former Executive Director Nancy Conley, the Corbin Tourism and Convention Commission has appointed an Interim Executive Director.
The announcement came Wednesday afternoon by Corbin Tourism and Convention Commission Chairperson Jeannie Cummins, who said, “On behalf of the Corbin Tourism and Convention Commission Board, I am pleased to announce the promotion of Emily Roberts to the position of Interim Executive Director.”
“Emily has served as Tourism Assistant for the past two years with exceptional dedication, creativity, and professionalism. Her passion for Corbin and her vision for promoting our unique attractions, events, and local businesses have been evident in every aspect of her work.”
Cummins went on to say that, after careful consideration, the Corbin Tourism and Convention Board voted at their latest regular meeting to appoint Roberts as Interim Executive Director.
“The board unanimously agreed that Emily’s experience, leadership, and deep understanding of Corbin’s tourism landscape make her the ideal person to guide us into the future,” Cummins said.
A native of Ohio, Roberts first moved to the Corbin area in 2013. In recent years, she has served as an assistant to former executive directors Maggy Monhollen and Nancy Conley.
