Date:

Ruby Jean Lee, loving, loyal, and dedicated, was an extraordinary woman who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
Born on December 2nd, 1941, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, Ruby lived a life filled with passion, service, and immense love for her family and community. She was a beacon of strength and wisdom, remaining steadfast in her faith, and a member of the Mt. Ash Baptist Church. Ruby’s life serves as a testament to the words of Helen Keller: “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” Ruby, a proud graduate of Cumberland College, held a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, a Masters, and a Rank 1. These academic achievements were a testament to her dedication and commitment.
She served the Whitley County School system for many years, ensuring the seeds of knowledge were sown in the minds of countless young individuals. Ruby’s dedication extended beyond her professional life and was deeply rooted in her personal life as well. She derived immense joy from her hobbies, reading and taking care of her family, and studying the Bible.
These activities were not just pastimes for Ruby, but an expression of her love and loyalty to her family and faith.
After a life well lived, Ruby leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration. She is survived by her sister, Rita Lawson, and her nieces and nephews, Brain Lawson, Billy Lawson, Betty Sutton, Yolonda McNeil, Molly Hust, Rachael Trosper, Sarah Perkins, and Emily Shelley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eulis and Liza Lawson. Ruby’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, service, and dedication.
Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her, forever reminding us of the power of love and loyalty. We invite everyone who knew Ruby to share their memories and upload photos to her memorial page, as a celebration of a life beautifully lived.
Her story does not end here, but continues in the hearts of those she touched. As we remember Ruby, let us be reminded of her favorite quote, “Love is patient, love is kind. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” Let us endeavor to keep her spirit alive in our hearts and actions.
