Tuesday Night Highlights: High School Basketball Results for Dec. 5, 2017

Six of the eight News Journal coverage area teams were in action Tuesday. Here are the results…

Both the Williamsburg boys and girls teams made the short trip south to Jellico, TN to square off against the Blue Devils and Lady Blue Devils. The boys were up first, with Williamsburg winning 81-52 to improve to 2-0 on the year. The WHS ladies were also victorious, 62-37, giving them a 1-0 start to the 2017-18 season.

The Whitley County Colonels and Lady Colonels hosted a boys-girls double header Tuesday, with the girls playing first against Garrard County. They had no trouble, cruising to a 59-23 win to improve to 3-0 on the season. The boys, on the other hand, fell to 50th District rival South Laurel 62-47, dropping them to 2-1 overall.

Also suffering their first defeat of the season Tuesday were the Corbin Redhounds, who fell to 2-1 after losing on the road to Lexington Catholic, 77-48. And the Corbin Lady Hounds are still in search of their first victory of the season after falling to visiting Perry County Central 56-44. The loss puts the team at 0-4 overall.
