W’burg officials make case for historic district

If you own a historically significant building in downtown Williamsburg then what does the proposed historic preservation district mean for you? If the district is approved, would you have to get permission from Washington or Frankfort to renovate your home or building? What are the advantages of having a historical district for the town?
