A Corbin man, who recently had three felony cases against him dismissed with prejudice, got some good news and some bad news during a hearing Monday afternoon in Whitley District Court.
The good news for Tristan Hall, 32, was that prosecutors agreed to dismiss a 2015 harassing communications charge with prejudice, which means that the charge can’t be filed again.
The bad news is that Special Judge Skip Hammons, who is district judge in Knox and Laurel counties, ruled against Hall’s request to have a 2014 hindering prosecution or apprehension charge dismissed on the grounds that he had been denied his right to a speedy trial, despite impassioned pleas by Hall’s lawyer, Herbert Moncier.
