2023 50th District Tournament: Night 1 Results

After night one of the 2023 50th District tournament at South Laurel High School, the Corbin Lady Hounds and the host Lady Cardinals have advanced to Thursday’s girls’ championship game.

Monday evening kicked off with the top seeded Lady Hounds facing off against the Williamsburg Lady Jackets. The Corbin girls improved to 20-9 on the season with an 80-44 win, sending Williamsburg home with a final record of 11-20.

Individual scoring for the Lady Hounds was as follows: Kallie Housley 21, Kylie Clem 20, Bailey Stewart 6, Raegan Walker 11, Mahayla Jordan 7, Addy Wilson 5, Izzy Walker 5, Mya Bryson 2, Sida Hill 3. Junior Darcie Anderson was not in the lineup Monday.

Lady Jacket Maddy Hopkins led all scoring in the game with 29 points, while teammate Allie Wilson scored 13 points and Abby Moses scored 2.

In game two Monday, the host South Laurel Lady Cardinals ended Whitley County’s season when they defeated the Lady Colonels, 77-30. With the win, South improves to 18-13 on the year. With the loss, Whitley finished up at 10-18.
