Baptist Health Corbin honors Kristie Barnes as the DAISY Award recipient

Date:

Kristie Barnes, RN, Surgical Services, at Baptist Health Corbin, has been awarded the DAISY Award, which is a recognition program to say “thank you” to nurses everywhere.

The award was created to recognize the value and importance of nurse leaders throughout Kentucky who exemplify resilience, grit, and dedication.

Nurses every day go above and beyond to not only provide patients and families with excellence in clinical care but also compassion. The DAISY Foundation honors them by showing profound gratitude for all that they do. The DAISY Award is a recognition program to celebrate and recognize nurses by collecting nominations from patients, families and co-workers. It is a way to thank nurses for the care and kindness they provide.

“Kristie always goes above and beyond for her patients. She is a true advocate for patients and their families. It is an honor to work with Kristie,” said Regina Lockaby, director of surgical services.

DAISY Award recipients are registered nurses who exemplify the nursing values: extraordinary compassion, courage and integrity in every situation. These individuals consistently demonstrate excellence in the delivery of patient care and promotion of their professional nursing practice.
