Wake Up Call

For three quarters it looked as if the Jellico Blue Devils was going to hang a defeat on the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets.
The Yellow Jackets (2-12) trailed 38-25 at the end of the third quarter and had trailed the entire game.
But, some half-court pressure proved to be the difference as the Yellow Jackets went on a 25-7 run to win the game, 49-45.
“We dug a big hole,” said Williamsburg coach Donnie Haynes. “I am really proud of these kids.”
The Jackets trailed 10-4 at the end of the first quarter and 28-14 at the half as Dexter Fitzpatrick had his way with the Jackets. Jellico pushed its lead out to 16 points before eighth grader Steven Taylor hit a three-point play to close the gap to 38-25 at the end of the quarter.
The Jackets fought back and pulled even on a Taylor steal with 4:41 left.
Michael McRay put the Jackets ahead for good with 3:18 when he converted a pair of free throws, 43-41.
Two more free throws with 1:45 left by McRay put the Jackets ahead 47-43.
