John L. Muse

Date:

John L. Muse, loving husband and father of eight, passed away at Turkey Creek Tennova Hospital on Saturday, December 4th, 2021, at the age of 66. He was surrounded by his devoted family and friends.
John was born to Richard and Adaline Muse at Jellico Hospital. He was the youngest of 11 children. He was a man of many trades such as butcher, mechanic, tow service and heavy equipment operator. He was a tried-and-true work horse. He had all the callouses to stand behind it.
He was known for his quick wit and aggravating pranks. He was an avid fisherman. He was a compassionate man, who hated to see others do without. He had a heart the size of the mountains he loved.
He had a special vision he wanted to do before he passed. He called and arranged a special cake be made with his Barbie (his wife) sitting on the top of the cake for her birthday and their anniversary. I think she has the right to know of his plan. He loved her with all his heart!
John is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Adalene Muse; brothers, Raymond Muse, Phillip Muse, Gene Muse, and Duke Muse; sisters, Betty Jo Long, and Frank Ann Turner; daughter, Brenda Lee Muse; son, infant son, Nicolas Mario Wilson Muse; and great-nephew, Adam Muse.
He is survived by wife of 31 years, Monica Gwyn Muse; children, Christie Reena and Daniel Benoit of Jacksboro, Brian Eric Muse of Jacksboro, Christopher Joesph and Sara Wilson of Jacksboro, Shawna Deshea Muse, and John of Morristown, John L. Muse Jr. of LaFollette; brother, Clyde Muse of Lavaca Arkansas, Blackie and Darlene Muse of Wooldridge, Whitey and Linda Muse of Elk Valley, Bob and Karen Muse of Newcomb; special family members, Trula Jean Muse, Barbara Sue Mardis (Granny), Matthew Muse, Melissa Muse, Billy Lay, Donnia Kay Peirce, Kayla and Chris Pennington, and Donnie Davis; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Wednesday, December 8, at the Harp Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 1 pm Thursday, December 9, at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery (Pioneer, Tennessee).
