Knox County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a woman in connection with multiple vehicle break-ins at Lynn Camp High School on Nov. 20 and the perpetrator(s) may be connected to two similar incidents in Laurel County, the most recent of which occurred Monday morning at Baptist Family Fitness.
Knox County Deputy William Stewart, the department’s public affairs officer, said five vehicles were targeted at the high school about 5:30 p.m. that night during the annual “Meet the Wildcats.”
The perpetrator(s) reportedly made off with personal items including checkbooks and identification cards.
Just prior to that, two similar break-ins occurred at Laurel County Home Health Care on U.S. 25E.
Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said two individuals are seen on video exiting a 2015 Dodge Charger and smashing the windows on two different vehicles.
“They were going after purses inside the vehicles,” Acciardo said.
Based on video surveillance, Acciardo said the Charger is either dark gray or black and has the new Halo headlights.
The driver of the vehicle is a black male, but no detailed description is available. No description is available on the passenger.
Stewart said the woman was connected to the Lynn Camp incident earlier Monday when she pulled up to the drive thru window of a London bank and attempted to cash one of the stolen checks.
