High School Football Round-Up: Week 6

Date:

With three road losses, it was a tough week for coverage area football teams.

The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets tasted defeat for the first time this season, dropping to 3-1 after a 38-28 loss at Somerset. The Jackets will travel again next week to play at Sayre.

While Williamsburg had their hands full with the Briar Jumpers, the Whitley County Colonels were in action just a short distance away, at Pulaski County High School. The Maroons jumped out to an early lead against the visiting Colonels, and ended up winning by the final score of 55-13. Whitley, now 1-4 on the year, will travel to play at Collins next week.

Finally, the Lynn Camp Wildcats dropped to 2-4 with a 60-14 loss at Cumberland Gap, Tenn. this week. The Cats will be on bye next week before beginning district play at home on Friday, Oct. 7, welcoming in the Pineville Mountain Lions.

The Corbin Redhounds were on bye this week, and will travel to Simon Kenton on Sept. 30.
