Anna Ruth Benfield, 84, formerly of Lily, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Richmond, KY.

Born in Laurel County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Feltner and Deloris Cornett Feltner.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Donald Lawrence Benfield on February 15, 2018; and her siblings Everett Feltner, Thelma Willingham, and Martha Creech.

Anna Ruth had worked in production for Caron Spinning Company. She enjoyed craft work and flower gardening. She had worked at Sanders Restaurant and Horn’s Restaurant in earlier years.

She is survived by five children: Larry Wayne Benfield (Brenda) of Lily, Nancy Sabrina Cobb (Rodney) of Richmond, Claude Blaine Benfield (Michelle) of Lily, Claudette Elaine Cox (Tom) of Lily, and Lawrence Allen Benfield (Jennifer) of Lily; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Jean Knoll of Benham, Dolly Caylor of Texas, Virginia Griffin of Georgetown, , and JoyceAnn Murphy of Georgetown; and brothers Burford Feltner, Paul Feltner, Ralph Feltner, and Eddie Feltner all of Georgetown.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with family members officiating.

Burial will be in the Hopkins Cemetery in Lily.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon – 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hopkins Cemetery.
