The Friends of the Corbin Public Library are hosting a book discussion event with author Silas House on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Corbin Public Library.
House is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author known for his eight novels, a book of creative nonfiction, and four plays.
During the event, he will discuss two of his works published this year, allowing attendees to ask questions and gain insight into his creative process.
One of the featured works is a murder mystery novel titled Dead Man Blues, set in the 1950s along the Kentucky-Tennessee border. The novel is under the pseudonym S.D. House, and is currently a top ten bestseller at Barnes and Noble.
The second work is a poetry collection titled All These Ghosts, which is rooted in Appalachian identity and has been selected as a finalist for the Southern Book Prize.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can look forward to hearing about his future works, including his ninth novel, The Tulip Poplars, scheduled to release in 2026, as well as his first picture book, That Dog Won’t Hunt, set to be published in 2027.
Silas is a native of Southeastern Kentucky and currently resides in Lexington.
