Baptist Health Corbin offers free stroke, heart disease risk screenings in partnership with local churches

Date:

In recognition of Stroke Awareness Month, Baptist Health Corbin, in collaboration with St. Paul’s Anglican Church and St. John’s Episcopal Church, hosted a free stroke and heart disease risk assessment screening event for the Corbin community.

The screening took place on May 29 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, which is located at 701 E. Engineer Street in Corbin. The event was designed to raise awareness about stroke and heart disease—two of the leading causes of death and disability in the United States—by providing early risk detection and education.

Community members received personalized assessments, educational materials and guidance on preventive steps to manage their cardiovascular health.

“We are proud to partner with St. Paul’s Anglican and St. John’s Episcopal to bring these vital services to our community,” said Teresa Cobb, RN, BSN, Executive Director of Nursing/Clinical, Regulatory & Emergency Response at Baptist Health Corbin. “Awareness and early detection are key in the fight against stroke and heart disease.”
