Charles Edward Davis, 81, was a man defined by humble beginnings and a rich life of thoughtful gestures and selflessness.
Born on July 14, 1944, in Frakes, KY, Charles was a beacon of humility and thoughtfulness, whose life was marked by gentle strength, deep-rooted family values, and a glowing love for the great outdoors.
He passed away on January 10, 2026, at his home, leaving behind a legacy that will forever linger in the hearts of those who loved him and the community he so deeply impacted.
Charles spent his working years as a toolmaker at Cantrell, pouring his dedication and skills into his craft. But it was in his personal life where his true passions unfolded. He was a man of the outdoors, finding solace and joy in hunting and fishing.
He leaves behind his son, Darren Davis and wife Wanda of Georgetown, KY; grandchildren, Chad Davis and wife Alyvia of Shepherdsville, KY, and Devin Davis of Georgetown, KY; special friend, Betty Hill of Williamsburg, KY; and siblings, Wilma Moses of Williamsburg, KY, Joyce Meadors and husband Jim of Rockholds, KY, Lona Freels of Hamilton, Ohio, and Ronnie Davis of Corbin, KY. His son’s mother, Eileen Davis-Warner of Springboro, Ohio, also survives him.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Gillis Davis and Virgie Justice; and brothers-in-law, Floyd Moses, Glen Freels and Bud Hays.
Each of these individuals held a special place in Charles’s heart, their bonds characterized by shared laughter, comforting words, and a lifetime of memories.
Funeral service was Tuesday, January 13, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brain Rountree and Chad Davis officiating.
The burial followed at the Pleasant View Cemetery Oaklawn Addition.
Charles Davis lived his life as a testament to the values he held dear – thoughtfulness, humility, and a love for nature. His memory will forever inspire those who were fortunate to have known him.
